Homework Help 6th – 8th Graders
Homework help will take place after school Monday through Thursday. Homework help will begin Monday, September 15, 2025.

Thursday - with Ms. Stark, Room 139
Sign-Up Sheet is posted outside of room 155. Students should be signed up by 9th period.
Independent Study Room 6th – 8th Graders
The Independent Study Room will provide students with a quiet, structured space to complete assignments, work on projects, or read. The Independent Study Room will run Monday through Friday after-school and is limited to 20 students per day. The sign-up sheets are located outside of the middle school office.
Art Club 6th – 8th Graders
Students will be able to work on independent or collaborative art projects, play art games, and more. Meetings take place after school on Mondays starting September 22, 2025. With Ms. Sidler. (asidler@onteora.k12.ny.us)
Battle of the Books Club 6th – 8th Graders
Students will participate in monthly book clubs culminating in a spring Battle of the Books competition. Meetings take place during lunch on Wednesdays. With Ms. Weisz and Ms. Constant. (aweisz@onteora.k12.ny.us and gconstant@onteora.k12.ny.us)
Chess Club 6th – 8th Graders
Students of all abilities are welcome, and instruction is provided to meet the needs of all players. Students will have the opportunity to challenge opponents through structured tournaments. Mrs. Hadley (khadley@onteora.k12.ny.us)
Intramurals 6th Grade only
A teacher led activity focused on the health and well-being of 6th grade students. This activity will take place after school on Thursdays. Please sign up outside room 166. Ms. Gallin (agallin@onteora.k12.us)
JAZZ ensemble 6th – 8th Graders
Students will participate in a musical group focused on performing during the semi-annual concerts in the middle school. Meetings take place after school every Thursday starting September 18, With Mr. Boyer. (hboyer@onteora.k12.ny.us)
Marching Band/Pep Band/Color Guard 6th – 12th Graders
This group of students are active throughout the school year, beginning recruitment in the fall. The program is open to all musicians and students who are interested in learning how to toss and twirl flags in the color guard. Color Guard may be participating in winter competitions. The band performs at the Community Night Basketball Game and marches in the local Memorial Day parades. The band has also marched in the Kingston and New York City St. Patrick's Day Parades. Band rehearsals will take place every Tuesday after school starting September 16, 2025. Color Guard will meet every Wednesday after school starting on September 17, 2025. With Ms. Dizon. National Junior Honor Society 6th – 8th Graders
National Honor Society is an organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement while also developing the ideals of character, service, and leadership. Meetings take place during lunch on Wednesdays. With Ms. Constant. (gconstant@onteora.k12.ny.us)
Science Olympiad 6th – 8th Graders
Students compete in a variety of science categories. Meetings take place on Thursdays starting in November. With Ms. Babcock and Ms. Proietti. (ababcock@onteora.k12.ny.us and sproietti@onteora.k12.ny.us)
Student Affairs Council (Student Government) 6th – 8th Graders
Elected student representatives participate in regular meetings of the student government. Meetings take place during lunch on Mondays starting September 22, 2025. With Ms. Stark. ( kstark@onteora.k12.ny.us)
Yearbook 6th – 8th Graders
Students in this activity publish a yearly book featuring all the events of the year. Meetings take place every 3 weeks during lunch, starting September 22, 2025 With Ms. Bishop. (abishop@onteora.k12.ny.us)
