Onteora MS/HS Daily Procedures Arrival & Dismissal

Morning Arrival (7:25 - 7:40)

• Student Arrival:
  • Bus Riders: Enter through Main Entrance or Center 28.
  • Parent Drop-Off: Students are dropped off at the West End Entrance (Tennis Courts side).
  • Late Arrivals: Enter through the West End Visitor Entrance (Tennis Courts side) and sign in.
• Visitors:
  • All visitors enter through the East End Visitor Entrance and check in through the security vestibule.

During the School Day (7:40 - 2:35)

• Late Arrivals:
  • Enter through the West End Visitor Entrance (Tennis Courts side) and sign in.
• Students Drivers:
  • The West End Entrance (Tennis Courts side).
• Visitor Procedures:
  • All visitors must check in at the East End Vestibule.
  • Security will issue a pass and notify the staff member.The staff member must come to the vestibule and escort the visitor to their destination.
• Parent Drop-Offs (Items):
  • All items (lunches, instruments, etc.) are dropped off at the East End Vestibule.
  • Security will receive items and notify the appropriate staff/student using the phone/call feature
    • Staff/students will retrieve the item down in the Vestibule area.
• Early Dismissal:
  • All student pick-ups occur at The West End Entrance (Tennis Courts side)
  • Middle School students must be signed out by a parent/guardian.
  • High School students must follow approved early release procedures.
• Nurse/Medical Dismissal:
  • Students will use the East End entrance, unless medically necessary to exit via West End.
• Student Driver Dismissal:
  • Exit through the West End Entrance (Tennis Courts side).

End-of-Day Dismissal (2:35 PM)

• Bus Riders:
  • Dismissed through Main Entrance and Center 28, following standard procedures.
• Parent Pick-Up:
  • All parent pick-ups occur at the West End Entrance (Tennis Courts side).

Afterschool Procedures (Clubs, Activities, Athletics - 2:35 - 4:10 PM/5:20 PM)

• General Pick-Up:
  • Afterschool pick-ups begin at 3:45 PM at the West End Entrance.
  • A staff member/monitor will be present to support a smooth and organized process.
  • Prior to 3:45 PM, pick up is at the East End Entrance.
• Late Buses:
  • Students taking late buses will report to the area in front of the computer lab (Rm 121 C/D), consistent with prior practice starting at 4:10 PM
  • Staff supervising activities are responsible for dismissing students to this location.
